Leather Qur'an bindings, made for publishers

A manufacturer, not a retailer: since 1978 GÜNALP has produced the leather covers of Qur'ans and other scripture for Türkiye's leading religious publishers, and today ships worldwide.

Every element of the classical mushaf binding is produced under one roof in Istanbul: genuine calfskin and thermo-leather covers, deep hand embossing up to 2 mm, hot foil, art-gilt edges, raised spine bands, the shamsa medallion and the envelope flap (mıklep) of the Ottoman tradition.

We work wholesale, edition by edition. Your press prints the book block; we produce the covers and the boxes that carry them, and hold registration, colour and finish to one standard across the run. What we make

Classical Qur'an binding, produced in series

Genuine calfskin, thermo-leather and quarter-leather mushaf covers, from pocket formats to lectern volumes. Each cover is embossed on hand-operated presses and checked by eye before it is packed.

The patterns are classical: Islimi scrollwork, blind tooling and borders drawn from a die archive four decades deep, or newly engraved from your artwork.
